From April 24th to April 27th, 2024, students and teachers from Omnicomprensivo Giano dell’Umbria, Italy, and CEBANC, Spain, participated in the AURORA Training Workshop hosted by the Dutch partner Pressure Line.
The training commenced at Graphic Lyceum, Rotterdam, where students showcased their Augmented Reality projects, receiving enthusiastic feedback from Matthijs Clasener, a media design teacher at the Graphic Lyceum. Following this, they embarked on an insightful tour of the school, guided by Sjoerd Wanrooij, a coordinator of European projects within the institution, which specializes in media, design, & technology.
On the second day, students sailed along the Maas river by waterbus from Rotterdam to Dordrecht for an engaging workshop on augmented reality. Theo Pronk from Stichting Verborgen Stad presented captivating projects and discussed the utilization of AR in revitalizing the past and preserving cultural heritage. Students were tasked with conceptualizing AR projects to revive locations of interest, resulting in innovative ideas to promote cultural and historical landmarks in San Sebastian and Assisi.
The AURORA project demonstrates its potential for future sustainability!
Throughout the visit, participants explored Rotterdam’s modern skyline, ventured into the historical center of Dordrecht, the Netherlands’ oldest city, and made a brief stop in Amsterdam, an essential destination in the Netherlands. Additionally, they had the privilege of witnessing the preparations for King’s Day, one of Holland’s most exhilarating festivities.
