Many publications on STEAM education focus on one or two of the separate STEAM disciplines without considering the potential for delivering STEAM curriculum as an integrated approach. Our MISSION:STEAM Handbook and Curriculum analyzes the efficacy of an integrated STEAM curriculum and instruction, providing evidence to examine and support various integrations. MISSION:STEAM Handbook is available for use by primary school teachers who can apply activities in their daily classes. While doing experiments, primary school students will focus on learning science process skills and building scientific vocabulary. The handbook is available in English, Lithuanian, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian.
TARGET GROUPS:
a) Primary school students with ethnic minority background (Age 6-12)
b) Parents of those students
c) National minority schools/clubs/communities
d) STEAM Educators, other teachers
The types of media that kids and youth are being exposed to are rapidly changing, and the current generation of youth spends a great deal of time interacting with media platforms and gaining exposure to social media influencers. Exposure to ethnically diverse STEAM professionals through media (including social media) might be utilised to support and encourage ethnic minority students to pursue STEAM either instead of, or in addition to, live interaction.
Our MISSION:STEAM Community Learning Platform aims to create a digital learning platform where kids are able to develop scientific thinking skills through engaging hands-on activities that solve real STEAM problems. The platform stores the STEAM lessons of Science on the Sofa Weekends, a collection of digital lessons in minority languages, developed and previously executed in live-streaming sessions.
Our STEAM lessons were created to provide greater opportunities to acknowledge and practice STEAM activities, where primary school students can succeed and achieve better results in STEAM education.
Our courses also create the opportunity for families of those students to use a minimum of resources in terms of finance and tools required to take part in any STEAM programme. Our courses are available in English, Lithuanian, Polish, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian.
